We work with a lot of dogs who will guard certain objects whether it be food, toys, people or furniture. In this particular case I’m teaching Casper the “off” command. He likes to guard the couch and bed, and will become reactive when asked to get off of the particular item. By teaching Casper the “up” and “off” commands we let him know when it is ok to get on the couch and also when he needs to get off as well.
